This role focuses on exploring and evaluating innovative and novel ways of addressing existing or emerging gaps and needs in the community mental health landscape, including incorporating and standardising successful elements into existing community mental health services. This can involve piloting new models of care or new service models and developing new enablers, and improving existing care delivery processes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and propose new service models and enablers to meet the needs of existing or emerging gaps (including caregivers and young adults) observed in the mental health sector
  • Standardise and systematise the reviews of existing gaps and needs in the mental health landscape and identify potential emerging trends and needs by studying overseas mental health strategies and services.
  • Conduct and lead teams in reviewing existing programmes/care processes to identify areas for improvements better to meet the needs of the mental health sector
  • Evaluate new mental health proposals and service models to assess their relevance to the gaps and needs identified and provide recommendations for pilot based on alignment with sector and division directions
  • Implement and review identified pilots and initiatives that improves support to persons with mental health needs and their caregivers.
  • Lead team in planning, designing, and implementing potential new service models and enablers, and evaluating their impact on the intended gaps and needs in the landscape
  • Engage relevant stakeholders to influence and collaborate on identified pilots to meet intended gaps and needs in the landscape.
  • Develop and implement appropriate caregiver support services and enablers in the community mental health sector, to better support caregivers of persons with mental health issues
  • Lead team in review of caregiver programmes and assessment tools, and evaluate the feasibility of incorporating successful caregiver support elements into other existing community mental health services
  • Lead team in the research, design and pilot of appropriate support models for caregivers of persons with mental health issues, to enhance accessibility and relevance of services for caregivers
Job Requirements
  • Postgraduate degree preferably in a healthcare-related discipline, with a preference for mental health and training qualification.
  • At least 8 years experience in healthcare or community care sectors with 2 years in managerial experience.
  • Prior work experience in mental health is essential.
  • Experience in programme design, implementation, evaluation, and programme management.
  • Able to work well with groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Able to multi-task and possess strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Able to draw connections between various concepts and ideas, understand their potential implications, and distil them into actionable tasks.
  • A self-starter with strong learning ability, who is resilient, adaptable, and able to manage change and ambiguity.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
